About Me
I'm a perpetual Alice in Wonderland.
When I'm not searching for an adventure, preferably on water, I am creating adventures for fictional characters who plague my sleep. I thought I could stop writing. When my dad passed away, I didn't see the point in writing given that my favorite reader was gone, but writing is as much a part of me as my blue eyes or sense of sarcasm. I'm not me without it.
In terms of personality, I am an odd mix of characteristics. Let's see. If we go by television shows, I'm a combination of Tami Taylor from Friday Night Lights, Schmidt and Nick from New Girl, Jack from Lost, and Leslie Knope from Parks and Recreation. Should those characters be mixed into one person? Probably not. Is it an accurate description of my personality? Yes. I have Tami Taylor's empathy for young people, Leslie Knope's ambition to make my corner of the world a little better, Nick Miller's utter lack of organizational skills, Schmidt's neurosis and appreciation for well fitted clothes, and Jack's inability to follow directions. For Schitt's Creek fans, I'm more of a David but I'm a little bit Alexis.
I have way more emotions than I want or need. Most people have the standard eight crayon pack of emotions; my pack of emotional crayons is well into the double digits.
Mainly, I'm a human being who recognizes that I'm one big rough draft.
To quote Eavan Boland, I'm a "star-gazer" and a "fire-eater,"
